Water Jet Cutting

Our CNC water jet cutting capability is an economical method of cutting parts with no tooling costs. The unique process of CNC waterjet cutting provides good edge quality, fewer burrs and usually eliminates the need for secondary finishing operations. We accept most electronic files, take dimensions off of existing parts or assist you in the design of the part. Take advantage of our volume metal pricing or you can provide your own material.

Water jet capabilities include:

  • Full engineering and technical support for difficult projects
  • Tolerances of +/- 0.005” (inquire about tighter)
  • 3D capability for finished products or blanks for machining input stock
  • Auto tilt for taper adjustment to insure a clean perpendicular surface
  • Single or multiple layers of material from as thin as .001” to as thick as 8”
  • Nesting capabilities to reduce material usage

Examples of What We Have Cut

  • Custom and foam gaskets
  • Letters and numbers for signs
  • Machining blanks
  • Carbon fiber composite components
  • Complete signs
  • Brackets and lifting lugs
  • Glass panels and artistic glass panels in cabinets or doors
  • Tooling and layout fixtures for weldments,
  • Sheet metal flat patterns
  • Tube sheets
  • Tile patterns, tile mosaics
  • Elaborate art patterns
  • Off-road vehicle component such as steering bracket, suspension brackets, exhaust flanges, skid plates
  • Racing car clutch components, copper head gaskets
  • Electrical control panels

Benefits of water jet cutting

  • Machines a wide range of materials and thicknesses up to 6” thick and more
  • Does not create heat affected zones (HAZ) or mechanical stresses
  • Rapid setup, no tool changes are required
  • Minimal fixturing required
  • Leaves behind a satin smooth edge, reducing secondary operations
  • No noxious gases, liquids, or oils are used in (or caused by) the machining process
  • Can be used to rough cut hard materials (tool steels, 304 and 316 stainless, G-10, hardened materials) reducing spindle time in machining operations
